Every cell in your body needs sufficient water to function at its best, including your skin cells. The skin is your body’s largest organ and serves you in many ways. Some of the ways your skin helps your body: it helps make Vitamin D from sunlight; it helps protect you from germs; it helps keep your body at just the right temperature by releasing sweat when you’re too warm; it provides you with the sense of touch; and much more.
We often associate drinking plenty of water with warm weather which, of course, is important to do. It’s equally important to stay hydrated during colder weather; your skin can become dry and itchy in the winter from spending more time indoors in heated spaces. By drinking plenty of water daily you can help your skin stay supple and healthy for life.
